Melbourne Yoga Expo was a resounding success!
|

The Melbourne community really showed their love and appreciation for yoga by coming together on August 31st to help us celebrate Melbourne's first Yoga Expo. With over 2000 people attending, the day proved to be a huge success and the beginning of something big for the Victorian yoga scene. We would like to express our thanks to all those who exhibited, taught, performed, spoke, treated and of course visited. We look forward to seeing you at the Yoga Expo again next year.

Yoga is popular with surfers who take it up to ensure swift movements and less injuries and this year at the Yoga Expo we have 3 exhibitors specialising in it. Maria Kodzoman from Free Flow Yoga provides a yoga sport practice specifically designed for surfers. Her practice is designed to increase strength, flexibility and concentration to gain fluid movement for surfing and to prevent injuries. Maria will teach a class in yoga hall 3 at 9.45am.
Tidal Dreaming Surf and Yoga retreats will also be exhibiting and their philosophy is to promote personal development and environmental awareness through the fun and excitement of learning to surf.
Tidal Dreaming Surf and Yoga retreats as well as Soul Surfing, who both organise surf and yoga retreats, are also exhibiting.... Check them out on the day
Don't miss a great article in Australian Yoga Life magazine by Tom Carroll and Simon Buttonshaw, from Quicksilver, about the benefits of yoga for surfers. Click here to view article.

A unique and popular feature of Yoga Expo is the Free Therapies area, where people from a variety of modalities offer their services to visitors on a complimentary basis. Previously these have included such therapies as Reiki, Vedic Astrology, Aura Reading and Healing, Naturopathy, Massage etc..

It's a celebration of connectedness through music, outdoor cinema, dance, yoga, meditation, theatre, art and sculpture. Details on the website.
